I have produced a script time line which is a second by second account of our video. I checked this along with the music track and it flows very well. This will give us a very detailed account of the storyline whilst filming the video, and will help us doing our storyboards as we know the timing exactly.
This Is the script time line I finished:
Script: With stage directions.
A2 Media Studies.
OPENING: 1st Location; in a teenage bedroom.
5 sec. We see a young girl sitting on her bed, obviously distressed and upset looking at her phone, sending a text message saying “ I saw you and her…walking in the rain!” to her boyfriend.
15 sec. Then you are immediately, focused on the boyfriend in another location (his bedroom), receiving the text message off the girl, who immediately walks off distressed and confused.
20 sec. We follow the girl’s emotions, as she recalls old memories, whilst looking at photographs on her bed of her boyfriend.
25 sec. You see a straight cut of the boyfriend looking upset lying on his bed in a daze after receiving this text.
30 sec. He walks around in his bedroom looking out the window then a close up of his face is shown.
40 sec. The girl steps up in the same position as her boyfriend looking outside the window.
45 sec. ** (FLASHBACK) ** She recalls seeing her boyfriend with another girl holding hands.
55 sec. She shakes of the memory and starts thinking of a plan to get over him, so starts getting ready for a night out.
70 sec. The young girl starts putting on her make up and changing outfits and dancing in her room, along to the music of the song.
90 sec. She sings the lyrics in the mirror “I saw you and her… walking in the rain… you were holding hands and I… will never be the same.” This is along with the song itself, so the song flows better and has more of a professional feel.
100 sec. ** (FLASHBACK)** of seeing her boyfriend with another girl.
2nd Location: Road
120 sec. She storms out the house determined not to cry whilst flashbacks of her and her boyfriend laughing together replay during the music video.
143 sec. Camera uses a tracking movement to follow the character as she’s walking up the same road, where she saw her boyfriend and the other woman holding hands.
183 sec. Camera movement changes and follows her movements from behind, as you see her walking off in the rain all alone.
FADE OUT
PLANNING- SYNOPSIS OF MUSIC VIDEO-
This is our synopsis for our music video for the track: Sublime- walking in the rain.
We have decided to follow a narrative story line to the track, which will help engage our audience more and was a typical convention of the dance/hardcore genre.

The camera shots depict the girl’s upset emotions, as she recalls old memories, whilst looking at photographs on her bed of her boyfriend. The audience see a straight cut of the boyfriend also looking upset, lying on his bed in a daze after receiving this text. He walks around in his bedroom looking out the window then a close up of his face is depicted. The girl steps up in the same position as her boyfriend looking outside the window **(FLASHBACK)**.
